camper Modern-day flower children can relive their youth or reignite the wild-child by taking one of these über-retro camper vans for a spin across Europe or the UK. Devon based O’ Connors campers and Bristol’s Seven Degrees West operate small fleets of campers, including the 1960s splitscreen and the 1970 bay-window style vans.
Not as rusty as your dad’s dance moves or your old flares…oh no! These hippy-mobiles have been totally revamped and rebuilt with new engines and new interiors- like Twiggy with a face lift, let’s say.
Inside you can seat three in the front on a bench seat and three in the back which allows you to travel six. The rear seat has two three point seat belts and a lap-strap, and easily converts to a king-size double bed. There is also a double bed in the raising roof.

You have the option of a drive-away awning which sleeps six so you can sleep four in the van, two in the awning and still have room to invite a few friends over to stay as well. There van also sports a deluxe stove and small fridge fitted as standard and a sink with electric pumped cold water. A buddy seat in the back allows dining for four and each van comes with a CD/iPod dock stereo for those Beatles and Rolling Stones classics.

Mains hook-up gives you plenty of power on the campsite and the independent blown air heating for those cold mornings just about rounds up the bus of love, peace and revolution.

The nice people at Seven Degrees West can recommend camp sites, beaches, surf schools, surf hire, bike trails, pony trekking, quad bikes, adventure trails, places of interest, pubs, restaurants and beach-side fish and chips to make you road-trip all the more interesting!
