Park At My House
Resolve Your Parking Nightmares
RESIDENTS’ permits, penalty notices, merciless wardens, “No Spaces” signs, No-Waiting zones, and double yellow lines all contribute to the hell that is better known as ‘parking your car’.
It’s little wonder that these niggling annoyances are contributing to a growing phenomenon of “parking rage” where otherwise sane motorists begin hurling abuse at ticket wardens or deliberately “nudging” a parked car in order to squeeze into any available parking space.
Having recognised the need for affordable, penalty-free and secure parking spaces, Anthony Eskinazi created the innovative website Parkatmyhouse.com.
This brilliant new service aims to provide parking solutions around public venues by enabling property-owners to rent out their empty driveways, garages, or spare pieces of land to drivers needing somewhere to park.
Motorists on their way to a train station, hospital or sports stadium for example, can make an arrangement with a homeowner to use his or her driveway on a one-off or regular, short-term or long-term basis.
As well as benefiting commuters on their way to work, or busy mums needing parking close to shops and schools, Parkatmyhouse.com is also proving that driveways, not the streets, are paved with gold, as homeowners advertising parking space can earn as much as £5,500 a year.
“The idea came to me in San Francisco,” said Anthony. “I was attending a Giants’ game with a friend and found that there were massive queues to get into the stadium car park and a $10 charge. Yet, I noticed lots of empty driveways in the neighbourhood but I didn’t have the owners’ permission to use any of these.
“By using Parkatmyhouse.com the owners will be able to generate an income from their space and those hoping to park will have an easy, affordable solution.”
Parkatmyhouse.com is being welcomed as a green solution to parking. By reducing on-street parking, the service will help ease traffic congestion, thereby making the roads safer for cyclists and pedestrians and more accessible for public transport and emergency vehicles.
Since the website launched in 2006 there are over 4000 registered users and over 3000 spaces available to rent across the UK signalling a clear demand for regular and cost effective parking.
Parkatmyhouse.com has been designed to suit even the worst of “technophobes” and is very easy to use.
To add a space, property owners simply register an account and follow the on-screen instructions. Listing a space is completely free.
Drivers looking for a space enter a postcode or place name and the site’s unique interactive map system will show parkers exactly where available spaces are located as well as informing them of rental prices, payment information and what features are associated with the space such as gates, lighting etc.
Prices are completely set by the space owner and a ten per cent commission fee is charged for successful transactions.
So next time you’re planning to take the car out, check out Parkatmyhouse.com to see if there’s any available spaces near your destination.
It might just save you a whole lot of parking rage.
