We benefit from professional accreditation from organisations such as the Law Society, the Bar Council and the British Psychological Society.

Our courses offer a recognised route into the legal profession, with the option of focusing on business, criminology or psychology, and their relationship with law.

We have a range of undergraduate courses covering the academic stage of legal training by the Bar Council and the Law Society. You may gain first-hand experience of working on real-life legal cases through our Law Clinic and also through our law in practice module.

We also offer taught postgraduate courses. The undergraduate LLB Business Law focuses on the commercial areas of law, providing an excellent foundation for the postgraduate LLM in Corporate Law and Strategy. We also offer a new Graduate Diploma in Law and a range of highly regarded MSc courses in Forensics. Undergraduate students graduating from Sheffield Hallam may qualify for 10 per cent off postgraduate course fees.

There is an active Mooting and Debating Society, which participates in national and internal competitions.

International opportunities

If you study one of our undergraduate law degrees, it may be possible to spend one full year at one of our partner universities overseas through the ERASMUS programme. Places are currently available in • Turkey • Poland • Spain • Netherlands • France • Austria. We also run an exchange with Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
