Legal Eagles Become Breakthrough Booby Birds

Legal Eagles Become Breakthrough Booby Birds

A ‘flock’ of the UK’s finest female legal minds have today announced that they will be swapping their  usual work place attire for a slightly different suit; bright pink jump suits.

Fran Eccles Bech (Executive Director of the Manchester Law Society), Maria Patsalos (solicitor, Mishcon de Reya) and Anne Waldron (formerly Global Director of Professional Development at Baker & McKenzie and now an independent consultant and business coach) are joining an exclusive band of women, known as the Breakthrough Booby Birds, to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer by taking part in a sponsored sky dive in June.  But this is no ordinary sky dive.  Before the ladies don their pink jump suits, they will have to raise £20,000.  EACH.

They join a prestigious roll call of past ‘birds’ who hail from various backgrounds including the corporate (Barclays Wealth, Deloitte and Spicers), luxury goods (Harrods), consumer (Marks & Spencer) and art worlds (The Fleming Collection).  To date, the Breakthrough Booby Birds have raised over half a million pounds and this year’s ‘flight’ hope to break all previous records and float effortlessly towards the million pound mark.

As well as these ‘legal eagles’, this year’s Breakthrough Booby Birds include representatives from Goldman Sachs, Harrods, media agency, Brooklyn Brothers and the charity itself.  All funds raised by the women will go direct to Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s ground-breaking research and breast awareness campaigns.  Through this work the charity believes passionately that breast cancer can be beaten and the fear of the disease removed for good.

The women are already well on their way to raising their £20,000 with many of them already nearing the £10,000 mark.
