CPS barrister bares all whilst on sick leave

Well here’s a More to Law if ever there was one. ..

Your traditional nude model would be, let’s say, tall, lean, toned and perhaps a tinge attractive? So imagine the horror as a 17-stone, middle-aged barrister flops all of his ‘assets’ in front of a gaggle of grannies at the church hall's weekly watercolour painting class.

 But is the former treasurer of the Bar Council, Clifford Allison, fazed by his corpulent physique? Certainly not it seems. The £80,000 a year legal high-flyer has gone as far as to setting up his own ‘actor’ profile web page on which he trumpets his thespian talents.

These include worryingly titled productions in which he has starred such as; ‘Bearded nymph Hercules pop video’, ‘Penguins Save the Planet’ and ‘Aged raver Funki’. Clifford also seems to have engaged in prolific nude modelling work and once, 'Modelled as hanging chilli for Nathaniel Renouf' . Hmmmmm.

Now there is, of course, nothing wrong with the persual of extra- curricular interests but if you’re off sick, which he has been for around year on grounds of stress- related illness, it’s perplexing that anyone should want to throw themselves, all 106 kg, into the limelight.

His peers at his current employer, the Crown Prosecution Service where he works in the Special Crime Division (if that’s not pertinent enough) are certainly dumbfounded as to why their colleague has swapped the courtroom for the Big Screen. Exhibitionist? Eccentric? seemingly so, but that’s makes for no excuse  in the eyes of the law.

Although he has allegedly claimed that his alternative employment has been deemed ‘therapeutic’ by his doctor, the CPS, it has been reported, will be making enquiries into the Bar faced cheek of it all (sorry!)
