Jones Day To Send Trainees To BPP Law School

Jones Day will be sending its trainees to study the Legal Practice Course (‘LPC’) at BPP Law School (BPP) from September 2008.

Jones Day believe their decision will provide trainees with a more integrated LPC and Training Contract period, allowing them to become familiar with the firm’s culture and unique non-rotational training system prior to joining the firm.

Lee Coffey, Training Principal and partner in charge of trainee solicitor development at Jones Day, says: “We believe there is a very real benefit in being able to streamline our trainees’ experience on the LPC. Not only does it give us the ability to align their training with our practice strengths, but we can also be much more effective in the subsequent training we provide as part of our internal development programme. Our trainees will also have the opportunity to get to know one another during the LPC year, as well as mixing with trainees going to other City firms. We believe this consistent input and improved level of training will give them the best possible preparation for their training contract.”
