Lawyers And Support Staff The Chance To Get 'Back To Practice'
On Monday 15 September Herbert Smith is hosting a “Back to Practice” workshop at its London offices.
The event is being held in partnership with pioneering executive search agency Sapphire Partners, and is open to both fee-earners and support staff who are keen to return to work. The event includes networking and professional development training.
It is an opportunity for experienced professionals who have had a career break but are considering a return to work, or those thinking of changing roles to work more flexibly, to find out more about the opportunities available at Herbert Smith. The day's participants will be able to attend presentations about the firm, and meet Herbert Smith partners, associates and staff to find out more about the firm from those who know it best.
The day's agenda will include presentations on the firm's divisions, a 'back to work action plan' and skills sessions.
Chair of Herbert Smith's inclusivity group, Ian Gatt QC said:
"With the battle for talent ever increasing amongst law firms, it's important for us to explore all possible avenues to make sure that we attract and retain the very best people. By providing routes back into work through events such as this, we are able to target people who might fall outside our usual recruitment net and increase the diversity of our employees. It also makes good commercial sense, as people who are returning to work after career breaks have a wealth of knowledge and experience that can add value to the work that we do for our clients."
Kate Grussing, Founder and Managing Director of Sapphire Partners agrees:
“We are delighted to be working with Herbert Smith on this pioneering initiative in the legal sector. We have worked with firms in other sectors on similar projects and know from years of experience the importance of tapping into this exceptional pool of talent and experience”.
