Operating in our highly regarded finance disputes team, this role will support the partners in futher developing this rapidly growing practice area where prospects for career progression in the medium term are excellent.Managing cases across the range of mainstream national and international banking disputes - for instance, commercial loans, asset finance, letters of credit, security, insolvency, fraud, asset recovery and anti-money laundering, financial regulation, capital markets, bank payments. Any successful applicant will need the following skills in addition to the general competencies for an Associate Level 2/4 as described on the Careers section of our website: · A sound knowledge of banking law in a litigation context. · Familiarity with the banking industry and experience in dealing with in-house counsel. · Ability to manage cases and lead other lawyers with initiative, drive and independence, within the group structure. · Flexibility, occasionally supporting cases across a range of other litigation issues. · Strong presentation skills, preferably with experience in internal and external training. · Flair for initiation of and participation in business development activies, forging strong client relationships. · An aptitude for giving crisp, clear and practical advice. The successful candidate will have: · Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree · Experience of banking litigation gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level · Ability to achieve continuous improvement and development · Demonstrable business development capability · Commitment to team-building and promoting the group's best interests (say, in training, precedents, or know-how)
