Partners at DWF re - appoint Managing Partner

Partners at law firm DWF have re-appointed Andrew Leaitherland as managing partner for a second three-year term, in an unopposed election.

Andrew became one of the country’s youngest managing partners when he was first appointed to the post in January 2006 at the age of 36. An employment law specialist who originally joined DWF in 1997, he was also the firm’s first managing partner since it was founded in 1977.

Since then he has overseen the highly successful merger with Ricksons in January 2007, which gave DWF new offices in Leeds and Preston in addition to those in Liverpool and Manchester. 2008 saw the launch of a London office and the appointment of 18 partners who have joined from other firms.

Andrew said: “I am personally delighted in the confidence that my partners have shown in me by re-appointing me for a further three years unopposed.''

The firm also announced that it has made two new promotions as it continues to develop its private client team. Emma Gaudern has been promoted to become national head of the private client department while Louise Scholes has been promoted to the position of director and will continue to head the team in Liverpool.
