Mayer Brown names new London head of restructuring

Mayer Brown has announced the promotion of Ian McDonald as the new head of restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency (RBI) for the London office. The promotion takes immediate effect.

The firm has seen a marked rise in restructuring and insolvency instructions of increased complexity and international reach in the deteriorating economic conditions, and has appointed Ian as dedicated head of RBI to lead this practice in London in response to this new environment.

David Allen and Ian Coles previously acted as joint heads of RBI in London as part of their existing roles as head of litigation and one of the global finance practice leaders (respectively), roles which they retain.

Ian McDonald, Mayer Brown’s head of restructuring, bankruptcy and insolvency in London said: “The breadth, scale and complexity of mandates has never been greater.
