Catalyst Legal may be a new name to the legal recruitment stable but it has a pedigree that stretches back over 20 years with a totally unique offering, not found anywhere in the legal recruitment sector.

Catalyst legal is the brainchild of Robert Dimler and Nick Horan who are both successful entrepreneurs in their own right. Robert has over 20 years legal recruitment experience, previously as Joint Managing Director of a successful  City legal recruitment group, where he was responsible for growing the recruitment business from a start-up of 2 to 100 staff, before part of the group was demerged and sold to Hays PLC.

Nick has been a pioneer for over 20 years in the learning and development and coaching arenas. 

As business proprietors we were both aware that “The Credit Crunch” was having a real impact on both head count and L&D spend.  As Robert explained, “Catalyst had supplied Learning and Development solutions for my previous business and it was over lunch together that I was stressing to Nick how difficult it was for legal clients to differentiate between one legal recruitment provider and another. They were all basically offering the same service, admittedly, some more professionally than others.”

 Robert was also looking to establish a new legal recruitment brand after a recruitment sabbatical, when Nick reacted with,  “Change the offering!”  “Provide a professional legal recruitment offering with a unique added value. Recruitment fees that included complimentary training solutions and coaching in one package.”  And that, as they say, was the start of a bright new beginning and the birth of Catalyst Legal.

“Sometimes, the simplest of ideas are often the best”. Says Robert.  And adds, ”The warm reception to our offering is testimony to that”. It was, as Robert explained, “a commercial union that ticked all the right boxes.  Legal recruitment and Learning and Development skills solutions with coaching at its core.
