Clifford Chance are pleased to announce that John Beechey, global head of the firm's international arbitration group, has been appointed Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce International Court of Arbitration in Paris. The appointment was confirmed by the ICC World Council in Stockholm on 13 June 2008.
Clifford Chance arbitration partner, Audley Sheppard commented," This is an extremely prestigious appointment and is a recognition of John's immense reputation and standing in international arbitration worldwide, built up over 34 years at Clifford Chance".
Clifford Chance has a market leading global arbitration practice with over 50 lawyers with expert capability in key industry sectors, providing organisations with specialist arbitration counsel wherever in the world they operate.John will retire from the partnership and take up the role on 1 January 2009.
