Ramsdens Joins University Of Huddersfield Uni As 'A Partner'

RAMSDENS JOINS UNIVERSITY OF HUDDERSFIELD AS A ‘PARTNER IN LAW’

One of Huddersfield’s leading law firms, Ramsdens Solicitors, has become the latest legal practice to join the University of Huddersfield’s prestigious Partners in Law programme.

Partners in Law is an initiative developed by Michael Woodhead, member of the University’s Governing Council, offering students an exceptional start in their future law careers and five of the major international law firms based in Leeds are onboard. DLA Piper, Eversheds, Hammonds, Pinsent Masons and Walker Morris have been part of Partners in Law programme since its launch in February 2008, whilst at a local level Huddersfield-based Ramsdens joins Armitage Sykes, Eaton Smith and Chadwick Lawrence.

The Partners in Law initiative will offer University of Huddersfield students mentoring opportunities and guest lectures from lawyers of the firms involved. Students will also be given the opportunity to visit the practices and see lawyers in action.

Paul Joyce, managing partner at Ramsdens, said: “We are delighted to be part of the University of Huddersfield’s prestigious Partners in Law initiative, which will help the students to have a taste of the real world of law, giving them an added advantage when they enter the workplace. At Ramsdens we are keen to contribute to the development of future legal professionals and it’s an honour to work with the University to give the students the best possible start to their careers in law.”

Professor Bob Cryan, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Huddersfield, said: “The Partners in Law initiative is something that we are very proud to be offering to our students, assisting them in making the best possible start in their legal careers. We look forward to working with Ramsdens to give the students an early introduction to the modern legal world, and ensuring that the University of Huddersfield continues to deliver an excellent law degree that prepares students for their future careers.”
