A Tale Of Two Cities
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...”
In the years before the French Revolution, the lives of an exiled French aristocrat and a disreputable but brilliant English lawyer are thrown together due to their love for the same woman. From foggy London to the blood-stained streets of Paris, Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities is a story of love, sacrifice, revenge and ultimately redemption.
Combining classical dance and theatre, Northern Ballet Theatre has a strong reputation for creating ballets based on classic stories including Dickens’ favourite A Christmas Carol as well as Wuthering Heights and Dangerous Liaisons.
Choreographed by Cathy Marston, previously an Associate Artist of the Royal Opera House, A Tale of Two Cities features a new score by Dave Maric, played live by the Northern Ballet Theatre Orchestra.
