As one of Edinburgh’s highly recommended classical Indian and Bengali restaurants, Pataka is the only Indian restaurant to be based on the famous Charles Rennie Mackintosh design.
The interior consists of carved private wooden booths which create a unique and contemporary appearance, challenging the design of more traditional Indian restaurants.

Whilst a selection of traditional dishes are on the menu, Pataka also offers innovative infusions of Bengali and Scottish culture as well as a unique and imaginative vegetarian menu.
Another welcome surprise in Pataka is the offering of Bengali language lessons which can be arranged as part of the meal and taught whilst customers tuck into the culinary delights, or can be arranged separately by appointment.

Pataka has also introduced the £5 express lunch with the intention of raising awareness of the delights of Bengali cuisine and how simple and convenient it can be.
