Quo Vadis
(26-29 Dean Street, London W1V 6LL).
Sam and Eddie Hart, the owners of top Spanish restaurants Fino and Barrafina are delighted to have reopened Quo Vadis. Following an extensive refurbishment, this iconic Soho restaurant has been bought back to its former glory with an 85-seater dining room on the ground floor and The Quo Vadis Members Club and two private dining rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor respectively.
The menu includes first courses such as Gloucester Old Spot Terrine with Sauce Gribiche, seafood dishes including a Seafood platter for two and a selection of Oysters and salads such as Endive, Strathdon Blue and Walnut. There are also pasta dishes such as Gnocchi with Pesto and Egg dishes including Poached Egg, with Artichoke and Hollandaise. Main courses from the grill include Rib of Lincoln Red Beef (for 2) and Rack of Hoggart whilst roast and braised dishes include Slow Cooked Shoulder of Pork. Fish dishes comprise of Grilled Turbot, on the bone and Skate with capers and Lemon. There are a selection of sides including L’ami Louis potatoes and Spring Greens. Pudding dishes are Profiteroles with Vanilla Ice cream and chocolate sauce and Treacle Tart, amongst others. The wine list is short and keenly priced.
In a bid to recreate the history and grandeur of the great Grill Rooms of London, designers Andy Martin Associates have created an elegant dining room space with beautiful leather seating, sophisticated fabrics and other precious materials used in detailing.
As the building has an historic affiliation with the art world, the restaurant and The Quo Vadis Member’s Club will also house The Quo Vadis Collection: a selection of contemporary art works from young British artists including Keith Tyson, Gavin Turk, Nina Murdock and Keith Coventry.
