Eco
Following the success of their restaurant in Clapham, father and daughter team, Sami and Charmaine Wasif, open a new Eco at 144 Chiswick High Road, London W4 (2008).
The traditional 12” pizzas are what many diners come to Eco for, and toppings include time-honoured choices such as funghi, napoletana and quattro stagione as well as more unusual combinations such as ‘amore’ – roasted red peppers, green beans, artichokes and red onion and aubergine on a mozzarella and tomato base; or ‘chilli and coriander’ – red and green chilli, basil pesto, spicy red pesto and coriander.
Other dishes on the menu include pizza bread sandwiches, such as smokey scamorza, baby mozzarella, avocado and fresh tomato; and calzone, including goat’s cheese, zucchini, mushrooms, red pepper mozzarella and oregano. Additionally, the menu includes a large selection of salads including crabmeat and smoked salmon; and asparagus and poached egg with pancetta, parma ham and bruschetta. There is also a section dedicated to dishes cooked al forno, including steaks; lamb shank; and grilled chicken. Amongst the homemade desserts are Italian staples such as tiramisu; panna cotta; and raspberry and almond polenta cake, all served with mascarpone or fresh cream.
Eco Chiswick is open everyday with food available from midday until 11pm Sunday – Thursday and 11.30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Takeaway is available during opening hours.
