Salon Privé is a three-day luxury and super car event that includes a prestigious Concours d’Elégance, the only one in London. The event is an opportunity to view some of the most amazing cars ever made, many of which have never been seen before in the UK. As well as this, in the last two years Salon Privé has established itself as a ‘must visit’ social event, fast becoming a fixture alongside the Cartier Cup and Ascot on the British social calendar. Last year Salon Privé was attended by many glamorous figures from the motoring and social scene including Jodie Kidd, Jay Kay, Lord Archer, Alain de Cadenet, Emma Parker Bowles and Ron Dennis CBE.
Created by brothers David and Andrew Bagley, founders of Performance Events, Salon Privé is held over three days (2nd to 4th July inclusive) in the unique setting of the exclusive and genteel private member’s club, The Hurlingham. Inspired by the top international motoring events, Villa D’Este and Pebble Beach, Salon Privé is only open to genuine manufacturers not car dealers, making it a far more private and enticing affair. The most expensive and luxurious cars internationally available (many of which have never been viewed in the UK before), will be exhibited by manufacturers including Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Maserati, Bentley, Bugatti, Porsche and Maybach. To keep the ladies’ interest the Bagley boys have also created a luxury brand area where they can escape and view the latest offerings from Audemars Piguet, Boodles, Holland & Holland, Privat Drive, Ventura UK(Riva) and XO Private Collection.
Environmentally friendly super cars (yes they do exist!) will also be on show including the sensational Concept Climax powered by E85 bi-ethanol fuel.
Alongside these exhibits the Concours d’Elégance (last year won by Jay Kay’s Maserati A6G by Frua) will showcase privately-owned cars including Anton Bilton’s Maserati 250S and this year the Concours will include ‘iconic’ including the Ferrari Lusso 250 owned by Hollywood icon Steve McQueen, sold last year at the Christies Auction in Monterey for $2.3million.
Guests may purchase tickets for either the daytime or evening events.
During the day, the event takes the form of a highly sophisticated private garden party offering guests limitless champagne and superb food, available in picnic hampers or alternatively lunch in the Palm Court. Opening the event on Wednesday will be Jay Kay, followed on Thursday by Boodles Ladies Day. Infamous stylist Gok Wan will be presenting the best-dressed lady with a Boodles Raindance Ring (valued at £6,500 in platinum). The pre-selection of the Concours d’Elégance on Friday provides an elegant end to the week.
For the evenings this year Salon Privé are proud to announce the inaugural Summer Ball in aid of the Prince’s Trust, which will be held on Thursday 3rd of July. Priced at £450 a ticket, the Summer Ball offers an evening in a unique and magical setting, with all the superb cars on view. The evening begins with a champagne reception in the garden, includes a seated dinner, where top chef Mark Hix of the Ivy, Caprice and Scott’s restaurants fame has created the menu. Entertainment will be provided by the critically acclaimed Simon Webbe who, following phenomenal success with boy-band Blue, will be performing songs in an upbeat and smooth musical style reminiscent of the infamous Ratpack. A leading London casino will also allow guests an after-dinner flutter or alternatively dance the night away in hedonistic glamour in a top West end club whilst mixing with an array of celebrity guests.
On the Friday evening guests may also purchase tickets to the Concours d'Elégance Awards Ceremony, where all the car owners including Jay Kay and Anton Bilton attend alongside a list of key figures from the international motoring world such as Andrea Zagato, Peter Stevens (former designer of McLaren F1), James May, Stirling Moss and Eddie Jordan. Again the evening combines excellent food with stellar entertainment including Blake, a quartet admired by celebrities including Mick Jagger, Kiera Knightly and the sporting world alike for their ability to effortlessly fuse classical music with pop to create a rare and distinctly compelling sound.
Whether you are a motoring afficionado or simply enjoy a truly elegant event Salon Privé should not be missed. To purchase tickets visit www.salonprivelondon.com or telephone 0808 100 2205.
