Freshfields' real estate practice appoints two new partners
International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed two new partners to its real estate practice.
Alexander Watt (London) and Niko Schultz-Süchting (Hamburg) have been elected to the partnership and will become partners in the real estate practice on 1 May 2008.
Chris Morris, global head of the firm’s real estate practice said, ‘Both Alex and Niko have a wealth of valuable experience and an international outlook that will play a key role in helping to carry our global real estate practice forward to future successes.'

Alexander Watt
Alexander is a member of the London real estate practice. He has experience in a wide range of real estate transactions, including acquisition, disposal, financing, development and letting of all types of real estate assets. Alex’s regular clients include Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds, Invista, Land Securities and Cinven.
Alex joined Freshfields’ real estate team in 1998. Since summer 2006, Alexander has been seconded to the corporate team where he has worked on the establishment and operation of real estate funds and joint ventures, as well as forging stronger links between the corporate and real estate teams.
Niko Schultz-Süchting
Niko is based in our Hamburg office. His work covers all aspects of real estate transaction advice, including inbound investments of foreign financial institutions and investment funds into German real estate and outbound investments of German investment funds abroad. Niko’s clients include Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, Oppenheim and Unioninvest.
Niko qualified in August 2001 and joined Freshfields the following month. He initially worked in the environment, planning and regulatory team in Berlin and Hamburg and moved to the real estate group in 2003.
